Personal Information

Hi, I'm Valentina Palomino, I was born in Santiago de Chile 21 years ago. Since I was very young I saw my older brother playing musical instruments, so my interest in music started. When I was at the school I started to have cello lessons and joined the orchestra of the district. 

Now I'm studying musical interpretation at the University of Chile, and playing different kinds of music with very different people. I am a member of an ensemble called Narval Orquesta, we search for a mixture of genres and textures and I like it very much, my interests are always connected with the creation of new music.

Also I play at the only orchestra of women in my country, which we created last year at the feminist strikes that we had, as a form of encouraging women to take their stolen spaces.  

I was in Berlin last month playing with Narval, and I loved how people appreciate the contemporary arts (which I'm very interested in) so I would love to go back to study for a few years this kind of languages that are very new for the Chilean academy, like the electronical techniques and the reading of spectral music.

I hope this can actually happen so I can get the skills for making amazing new music. :)
